MY SCHOOL
My school is the best high school in the comuna five of Medellin city. It is located in Alfonso López neighborghood. These are some reasons why my school is a qualified institution: its physical space is very beautiful; therefore, it has many trees and a duck fountain. It has three buildings and one coliseum, too.
Its mission is to offer an integral education based on respect, respect for the difference and the interest in learning.
On the other hand, in 2016 la Institución Educativa República de Uruguay will be a model in the formation of citizens with sense of membership and respect for their country. Our education is and will be focused on values, respect for human rights and scientific and technological thinking.
Finally, my school wants to be an integral center for the human formation and the formation of good citizens.

The Republic of Uruguay Educational institution was founded in 1964 as "Urban School girls' Republic of Uruguay".In 1996 it became joint institution.
In the Year 1999 our school expanded its educational services from the basic elementary school to high school, so that in the years 2003 and 2004 it was able to implement the School and make its first class in 2004. I don’t understand this very well.
The institution seeks to establish its stronghold in the formation of values and has multiple projects like a school cafeteria, red cross, fellowship and more. In the year 2007 the inauguration of the TV channel took place, this has been a flagship project for the improvement of the possibilities of communication.

Currently, the institution has entered the cohort of the quality of municipal institutions which opens its horizons to new educational opportunities that meet its mission and vision.
ME AS A TEACHER
My name is Carlos. I am an Arts teacher. I studied representative arts at the Universidad de Antioquia in Medellín City. I finished my studies in 1999. Then, I studied two post degrees one in Dramaturgy and one in Education in art and folklore. Since 1996, I have worked with the municipality of Medellín, as an Arts Teacher. Also, I worked teaching theater at the University of Antioquia and another institutions. In my free time, I have been doing community theather.
From 1996 until 2003, I was a teacher at Escuela Popular de Arte of Medellín, an institution dedicated to the teaching of arts. There, I was a theater teacher for seven years. My students were wonderful because they wanted to learn.
Nowadays, I teach at the Institución Educativa República de Uruguay. I teach there, since 2003. There, my students study arts as an obligation, but not because they have passion or love for arts. This is very different to Escuela Popular de arte.
Actually, I enjoy my work because it allows me to educate citizens, and to share many nice moments with my workmates. Teaching gives me the chance to think about the importance of the norm in the formation of the citizens. However, as our students don’t like the norm, I have thought of changing my work, because I don’t like to obligate people to study, I need that they love what they are doing. For me, high school students are obligated but they don’t like study.
